What issues did you have before introducing the laser machine?
Since our founding in 1965, we have developed our business roots in the community as "The Printer of Izunokuni."
We were actively exploring the launch of new ventures to bring a fresh dynamic to our existing printing operations. However, a significant challenge we faced in expanding our business was figuring out how to engage in these new initiatives while minimizing investment, given our limited time and personnel.
Established in 1965. Operating a community-rooted business as "The Printer of Izunokuni."
Why introduce the GCC LaserPro laser machine?
The opportunity to see a laser engraver at the printing exhibition "IGAS" was the catalyst that led us to seriously consider launching a new business venture.
The subscription-based laser engraver, E200 Series (also known as MAKES in Japan), available for a fixed monthly fee, had the significant appeal of allowing the business to start while minimizing initial investment. Furthermore, learning about the potential for creating a wide variety of embellished items through combination with a UV Printer opened up substantial possibilities for business expansion.
Since we were already using Illustrator in our printing business, we had no concerns regarding equipment operation or data creation. The presence of the "Business Restructuring Subsidy (※)" also served as a tailwind to support our new initiative, ultimately encouraging our decision to proceed with the implementation.
※The Japanese government provides grants to SMEs for new business ventures.

We chose the subscription-based laser engraver, E200S Series, to start our business with minimal upfront costs.
Benefits of the GCC LaserPro
In February 2024, we launched "ISABEYA," a creative space that serves as both a Fab Space and a Coworking Space.
Despite the personnel constraints during the launch, we focused on the fact that no similar facilities existed in the vicinity. By offering a gathering place for designers, creators, children, and people from support facilities, we aimed to revitalize the community through monozukuri (craftsmanship/making things).
Since opening, we have received various needs and consultations related to local specialties, such as Japanese washi paper, goshuin (shrine/temple seals), and requests concerning gravestones, demonstrating that the facility is being actively utilized.
As the number of users has grown, our core printing business has also begun to receive new inquiries and outsourcing requests. We have even been introduced to new clients by the local tourism association, leading to a noticeable change in perception of our company—that "we are more than just a printing company."
Furthermore, internally, employees have become actively involved in events and product development related to the new business, creating a tangible sense of motivation and excitement within the company.
We built a Fab and Coworking Space to foster connections and collaboration in craftsmanship.
We stock materials for laser and UV printing, such as acrylic and MDF.
What are your prospects for the laser business?
The operation of "ISABEYA" is not primarily focused on the pursuit of profit. Our aim is to broaden the scope of consultations we receive in our core printing business and to deepen our connection with both the local community and our clients.
Moving forward, we plan to implement various strategies, such as utilizing social media and hosting workshops, to ensure the space can be utilized by an even wider audience.
